OTAGO AND SOUTHLAND DRAW HOME TEAM EQUALISES IN LAST TWO MINUTES | Per United Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, September 13. In a fast and even game that the heavy rain and. strong winds could not rob of interest, Southland and Otago drew, 4 goals all, in the representative Association football match yesterday afternoon. The visitors had an early lead, and kept it almost throughout, Southland _ managing to equalise the scores only in the last two minutes. R. M‘Lean scored 4 goals for Otago, and M'Cormack (2), Morrison, and Reddington scored for the home side. The Southland forwards lacked the combination of the visiting side, but improved in the second spell. Both sets of backs played fine defensive football, and the two goal-keepers—Race (Otago) and Pay (Southland)—were very good. Barclay and Binnie, Otago’s full-backs, played consistently well and with excellent judgment. The Otago juniors beat Sotuhland juniors by 4 goals to 2.
