WOMEN'S GAMES

OTAGO DEFEAT CENTRAL OTAGO A team from Cental Otago visited Dunedin at the week-end and played a match against the Otago team at the Oval on Saturday afternoon, the home side winning by one goal to nil after a game which was not inspiring. Play was up and down the field for the whole of the time, and though each side initiated many promising attacks, both lacked the necessary finish in the circle, and there was no score until near the end. The Otago players were somewhat stale after their strenuous week at the. Dominion tournament, and the visitors displayed a lack of cohesion which would undoubtedly disappear if they had greater opportunities for combined practice. Most of the Central Otago attacks were broken up by the Otago rear division, which was playing a very safe game, and the Central goalkeeper was responsible for repelling the majority of the attacks by Otago which reached the circle. Shortly before the end the Otago forwards got through the defence and Miss A. Harley send in a good shot. The game ended; — Otago 1 Central Otago 0 Mrs George (Clyde) and Mr R. S. Wallace were the referees. DUNEDIN v. CLUTHA. The Dunedin Club’s team met a Clutha team on Saturday and won by four goals to two. C GRADE. Bounty 3, Momona 3.
