SUNDAY SERVICES
At First Church Communion Sunday "will bo observed. The Rev. W. Allen Stevely will preach in the' morning on ‘ The Way of the Cross,’ and in the evening on * The Threefold Grace.’ At the evening service the anthem will be ‘ O Saviour of the World,’ and the solo ‘ Come Unto Me.’ Dr Galway will be at the organ. Mr F. W. Winton will take the morning service in Knox Church, and Mr H. K. Evans the evening service. In St. Stephen’s Church the subject at the morning service will be ‘ Prosperity of Soul,’ and at the evening service the subject will be ‘ The Earth Filled With His Glory.’ The Rev. Thomas Miller will preach at both services. The Rev. C. H. Olds will conduct both services at Trinity Methodist Church. In the morning he will speak on ‘ The Certanity of God’s Providence.’ and in the evening on ‘ The Challenge to Believe.’ Mrs Ikin will sing * Give Thanks and Sing,’ and the choir will render the anthem ‘ All in -an April Evening.’ The Rev. Leslie B. Neale will conduct both services in the Methodist Central Mission, Octagon Hall. In the evening the members of the Men’s Club will attend the service, and Miss Doris Darracott will render the solo. Services at the Mornington Methodist Church, which is celebrating its jubilee, will be taken both morning and evening by the Rev. W. H. Greenslade, of Balclutha, a son of the late Rev. W. Greenslade, who was minister of the Mornington Methodist Church during the war years. At the Methodist Church, St. Kilda, the preacher will be the Rev. T. Skuse, who will take as his subject ‘ Attractive Goodness ’ in the morning, and ‘ God in the World ’ in the evening. The Rev. T. R. B. Woolloxall will conduct both services at the Dundas Street Methodist Church. His subject in the morning will be ‘ An Immortal Village,’ and the evening ‘ Truth in Paradox.’ The the Hanover Street Baptist Church the services will be taken by the Rev. J. Ewen Simpson, who will speak, in the morning, on ‘ The Young Christian’s Life,’ and in the evening on ‘ Christ’s Challenge to Youth.’ In the evening the hymn study will be ‘Jesus Lover of My Soul.’ ' At Caversham Baptist Church special arrangements are made to observe Bible Class Sunday. The morning subject is ‘ The Day of Atonement.’ In the afternoon there "will be a youth rally at 3 o’clock. At night the subject is ‘ The Art of Boxing.’ The preacher is the Rev. R. L, Fursdon. Members ,of the Bible classes will sing at the evening service. The Rev. S. F. Hunter, D.D., will conduct Divine worship at Moray Place Congregational Church, his subject being, in the morning, ‘Psalm Studies (2), ‘The Call to Praise,’ and in the evening, ‘ls Christ Necessary? ’ The choir will sing the anthem, ‘ The Everlasting Strength ’ (Harris). Dr John M. Laird will conduct the services at the United Congregational Church, Albany street. ‘ A Vital Message for the Church ’ will be the topic in the morning, and in the evening he will speak on ‘ The Glory of the Cross.’ Mrs J. L. Matheson will bo the soloist at the evening service. On Monday evening at 7.45 there is to be a lantern lecture entitled ‘ Christ in the Mists of the Past ’ Mr Reuben A. Webb’s subject at the Spiritualist Church, Radiant Hall, will be ‘ Compensation and Retribution According to the Spiritualist,’ after which Mrs Elizabeth Webb will give clairvoyant messages. A well-known singer will render a baritone solo. The study circle will meet at 2.30 and the healing centre will meet' at 8 o’clock on Monday. On Friday Mr Webb will give a short address, to be followed by clairvoyant messages. The services at the Salvation Army, Dowling street, will be conducted by Adjutant Mahaffie. Envoy Gray will continue his most interesting reminiscences on his travel in other lands at the happy hour gathering at 3 p.m. All are welcome to the Army’s bright happy services. At the Theosophical Society there will be an address by Mrs A. J. Pollard entitled ‘ Rigor Mortis.’ At the Greater World Christian Spiritual Mission, King street. Divine service will bo held, the Rev. G. Brook taking for her subject ‘Death—Then What?’ An interesting subject and special service, spiritual clairvoyance, will follow.
