ZENITH SWIMMING CLUB

ANNUAL MEETING The . annual meeting of the Zenith Amateur Swimming Club was held in the club room, Y/M.C.A. buildings. The chairman,'-Mr W. R. Sellar, presided, over a large attendance. The Acting Secretary read the annual report for 1935-36 season, and copies of the balance sheet were distributed. The Chairman, •in moving their adoption, commented on the favourable financial position of the club, and complimented the club on its capable executive offiThe officers for the 1936-37 season were elected as follows:—Patron, Mr P. E. Cleary ; president, Mr W. R. Sellar; vice-presidents—Messrs E. R. Grace, H. Harley, W. Stewart, J. Currie, A. J. Holloway, E. Marslin, J. Hughes, F. J. Townsend; secretarytreasurer, Mr D. S.'Binning; committee—Messrs I. W. Guthrie. L. Hill, J. Marston, Miss Collins; club captain, Mr P. H. Binning; deputy-captain, Mr L. Hill. The club championships were decided in March, the results being as follow: Club championship, Mr J. Marston; club-proficiency championship, W. W. Buckland; senior ladies’ championship, Miss M. Cleary; intermediate boys’ championship, W. W. Buckland; intermediate girls’ championship, Miss O. Buckland; junior boys’ championship, A. Deuchrass; junior girls’ championship, Miss M. Stewart; most improved swummers (junior), R. Dowland; harbour race, J. Currie. At the conclusion of the meeting the Chairman expressed the committee’s thinks to the members of the Otago Centre, N.Z.A.S.A., the Press, and others who officiated at the carnivals; also to the Y.M.C.A. officials and staff for their friendly co-operation.
