Wingatui was expected to leave Auckland to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Oamaru. She is due on Friday. Wainui was expected to leave Wellington early this afternoon, and is due here late to-morrow. She is to sail on Tuesday for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. Waipiata is to leave Wellington on Monday, and is due here the next day to load out on Tuesday for Bluff, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Port Waikato is scheduled to load out here on Monday for Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarei via ports. Holmlea is now due on Thursday to load and sail the same day for Wellington, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato via ports. Storm has been bar-bound at Wanganui, and is now due from Bluff on Friday to load and sail the same day for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui via ports. Gale is due here on Saturday next from Wellington, and will proceed later to Port Chalmers to dock for her annual overhaul. Waipahi, replacing the Karu, loads out at Dunedin on September 21 for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via ports. —Overseas.— Waikouaiti reached Dunedin yesterday from Sydney via Bluff, and is expected to sail on Tuesday for Timaru and Lyttelton. Hertford berthed this morning at Port Chalmers to continue discharge. She is to sail late on Tuesday for Bluff to complete and commence Homeward loading. Limerick, from Pacific Coast ports via northern ports, is now expected at Dunedin on Thursday. She is to complete discharge here, and is to sail next Friday for Melbourne and Sydney. Tacoma Star, from London, is making Dunedin her first port of call in New Zealand, and is due here on Tuesday afternoon. Port Hobart is now expected here next Thursday to complete discharge and commence loading for London and West Coast ports. She is also to load at Timaru, Napier, Gisborne, Auckland, and Wellington.

Waters was recalled from holidays at Auckland recently to take command of the Kairanga, relieving Captain S. Hewitt, who has come ashore on sick leave. Captain C. Burgess'has taken temporary command of the Waipiata, relieving Captain W. Whitefiekl, who has transferred to the Kaikorai at Auckland, vice Captain J. L. Brisco, who is ashore on sick leave. MOTOR SHIP KAURI. The Union Company has received cabled advice that its new intercolonial motor ship Kauri cleared Greenock last

Saturday for New Zealand via the Cape of Good Hope and' South Australia. She will load at South Australian ports en route to New Zealand, and is due in the Dominion about the middle of November. Captain W. D. Cameron is bringing out the Kauri, which on her trials averaged 12J knots. A vessel of 2,400 tone gross, the Kauri was built by Alexander Stephen and Sons, Linthouso, and has been specially designed for the intercolonial timber and general cargo trade. She has a dead-weight carrying capacity of 3,000 tons on a draught of 18ft, and her service speed will be 11 knots.
