HARMONIOUS RELATIONS
PAINT WORKERS AND EMPLOYERS FORTY-HOUR WEEK AGREED 'UPON [Per United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, September 11. The Conciliation Council is to-day hearing a dispute between the paint and varnish employees and the Wellington paint, varnish, and allied products manufacturers. Both parties propose a 40-hour week, with no Saturday work. The employers’ counter-proposals hate been favourably commented on by the employees’ assessors. The wages, the employers suggest, should be from £4 15s down to £4 for adult males.
