M'CREADY BEATS BOESCH

[Plr United Press Association.] . NEW PLYMOUTH, September 10. , Earl M'Cready, at Stratford to-night, defeated Paul Boesch with a submission fall gained with a Boston crab at the beginning of the eighth round. The bout was clean, interesting, and even. Boesch was even on points till he hurt his back in an unsuccessful dropkick in the seventh round. BLOMFIELD V. DAVIS The Match Committee of the Otago Wrestling Association can honestly claim that it uses its best endeavours to select from the men available at the time the best-matched pair, but occasionally it makes an error of judgment and arranges a contest’ which proves to be more or less one-sided. Such a match was the one staged here a week ago. between Joe Savoldi and Dannie Dusek, The committee knew that Dusek was a good wrestler, but did not expect that Savoldi could possibly be so much better than his opponent as he eventually proved to be. The match

arranged for to-morrow night is between . “ Lofty ” Blomfield, the New Zealander, and “Wee Willie” Davis, the big Virginian, and from their performances in this country it would appear that these men are most evenly matched. Both men have met and defeated the Canadian champion, Jack Forsgreu, by falls, and both men have been defeated by Earl M'Cready, British Empire champion. They have demonstrated in Dominion rings that they are of the aggressive type, and patrons are assured of witnessing a thrilling and interesting bout. This will mark the first appearance of Davis in the local ring, and the first meeting of these men in any ring. The preliminary contests arranged for* the evening should prove interesting, as the amateurs participating are good boys exploiting various styles. The box plans, which are at the D EC..-close promptly at 11 to-morrow morning.
