PORT CHALMERS LABOUR PARTY

The monthly meeting of the Port Chalmers branch, of the New Zealand Labour Party was held in the Buffalo Hall on Wednesday. Mr C. Smith presided over a large attendance. The branch now must be the largest in Otago. One member nominated 25 members for admittance, thus bringing his total to 100 for two meetings. A new branch was recently formed at Purakanui, and to-night . another branch will be formed at Waitati. Mr W. Pryde was elected to. fill the vacancy on the O.L.R.C. in place of Mr T. Anderson, who resigned. Messrs H. Williamson, James Thorn, W. Albertson, and Mrs WeUgreen were added to the Social Committee. A debating society is also in the course of formation. Mr H. Williamson was appointed assistant secretary.
