OBITUARY
MR WILLIAM CROSSAK The death occurred to-day, after a fairly long illness, of Mr William Crossan, aged 74 years, the licensee of the Waterloo Hotel, Caversham. Of ,a genial disposition, the deceased was well-known and widely respected in Dunedin. His chief hobby was racing, for which he generally had several horses in training, and he was a frequent attender at race meetings throughout the South Island. (Received September 11, at 1.20 p.m.) The death is announced of Admiral Stuart Nicholson. [Admiral Stuart Nicholson entered the Royal Navy in 1878. He served at the Dardanelles during the Great War, and was mentioned in despatches. From 1902 to 1906 he was Assistant Director of Naval Intelligence. He was born on the Isle of Wight in 1865.]
