APPEAL DISMISSED
INCOME TAX EVASION LARGE SUM INVOLVED. SYDNEY, September 9. Mr Justice Evatt, in the High Court, dismissed Theodore Charles Trautwein’s appeal against his income tax assessments, under which he is liable for the payment of £162,000 in tax and penalty. Costs were also given against Trautwein. Mr Justice Evatt said it was almost impossible to obtain an acurate statement of Trautwein’s financial affairs, because no proper books or accounts were kept.
