HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram, dated September 5, from the High Commissioner for New Zealand, London: — Tallow.—Market continues quiet on spot, with prices unchanged. Hemp.—Manila : Market firmer. “K ” grade for September-November shipment sold at £25. Freight increase of 16s 6d a ton operative from September I_. Sisal: Market steady. Septem-ber-November shipment values at £26 15s. December-February shipment sold at £26 New Zealand: Slightly better demand. Small business done in fair at £lB 15s to £l9 for September-Octo-ber shipment. _ Eggs.—Market firm. English, national pack 13s 6d to 18s, ordinary pack 14s 6d to 15s 6d; Danish, 10s to 13s. Fruit.—Balance in cool store clearing; Sturmer, 4s to 6s.
Casein.—Market firm, with steady demand. Current values lactic casein, Argentine and French, are £46 to £47; New Zealand, £4B to £49.
