SQUASH RACKETS

LOCAL CLUBFORMHB As a result of the enthusiasm displayed by Dunedin followers of indoor games a squash rackets club has been formed. The difficulty of building squash courts (which are somewhat expensive to form and for which a fairly heavy initial capital outlay is essential) has been overcome. The entire tap floor of Hallenstein Bros.’ building in Dowling street has been made available by that firm, and a contract for the erection of two courts, with lockers, showers, and a club-room, has already been let to the Love Construction Company. .The members of the club, numbering about 100, appear to be enthusiastic about the prospects of foe game. It is understood that the membership list has been closed in the meantime, but that a waiting list has already been opened. The restriction on membership is made because it is scarcely practicable to have a large membership with only two courts available. ~ The office-bearers of the club, which is to be known as the Otago Squaih Rackets Club, are as follows: —Patron, Mr G. R. Ritchie; vice-patrons—-MeSsrs Crosby Morris, R. Hudson, P. Hnlsted, A. Hudson; president, Mr-J- .; Fraser; vice-presidents, Messrs G. Keiu and W. F. Brinsley; secretary ana treasurer. Mr W. F. Titchener;. committee—Messrs G. M. Lloyd, vV. a. Arraitago, \V. K. F. MacMillan, R. U. Talbot, R, F, Barr, M. Joel,
