DAVIS Local followers of wrestling- should witness an interesting professional-con-test at the Town Hall next Saturday night, when Lofty ” Blomfield will meet “We Willie ” Davis. This bout, will mark the first appearance of Davis in the local ring, and also his initial bout with the New Zealander. Davis will have a height advantage of approximately Sin over Blomfield, who stands “ barely ” 6ft 2in. and he will be at least 2st heaver than his opponent. Notwithstanding the disparity in height

and weight, Blomfield has expressed confidence in being able to secure the decision. Both men know the orthodox holds and counters, and each has specialties of his own, Blomfield’s being the octopus death clamp. The’contestants are adepts in the art of forearm jolting, and one man cannot employ these tactics without eliciting retaliation from the other. The contest should prove to be thriling and entertaining, in addition to being full of action. Very good amateur preliminaries have been arranged, and the box plans are now open at the D.I.C.
