PUBLIC TELEPHONE FOR KEW.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I would like to bring to the notice of the Postmaster-General the fact that there is not one telephone booth at Kew. The hon. gentleman knows without my going into details how this suburb has extended, and elderly folk have to go as far as Forbury Corner before they can have the use of a public telephone. They then have the hill to climb again, and such a position is very distressing when one has illness in the home and aid is needed during the night. I would suggest to the hon. _ gentleman that this matter receive his consideration, and that if possible a public telephone be placed in. the vicinity .of Skibo and Murray streets. I feel sure it must be an oversight on the part of the department, 'when one : compares how other suburbs are served and that the suburb of Kew has not one public telephone— I am, etc., . Service. September 10.
