Training at Randwick to-day was on the steeplechase grass, which was in good order. The course proper was closed, in view of Saturday’s races. Gold Rod bowled over four furlongs in 50seo in great style. He was very Impressive. Lough Neagh, going extra well, ran the last four of seven furlongs in 51i sec.

Golden Chance indicated early improvement, and, carrying a good weight, completed six furlongs in Imin 16isee. _ I Padishah and Billy Boy did a strong seven furlongs in Imin 33|sec. Rob Roy again pleased watchers with seven furlongs in Imin 31Jsec. Palm led Barak End in a very smart four furlongs in SOsec. Gustos and Cerne Abbas worked nicely over four furlongs in 50)scc, the former leading. Distinguished, showing definite signs of improvement, did four furlongs in SOJseo. ' Kow Tow, working much better and with Dangar, reeled off four furlongs in SOsec.

Loud Applause ran away from Grand Boy and Martial at the conclusion of a four-furlong run in 51sec. Cuddle worked in first-class style over five furlongs in Imin 4|sec. Silver Streak covered three furlongs on the tan in 38£sec.

Allunga did not work and is still a very doubtful starter in the Metropolitan Handicap. _ Examination disclosed that Black Friar’s injuries comprised extensive abrasions and bruises which appeared superficial. Nevertheless, there is a possibility that he will be unable to race during this trip to Australia.
