When warned that she had only , a brief time to live she indomitably completed two books before her final week’s illness. [Miss Holtby, who was only 37 years of age, enjoyed wide popularity as a novelist. She also wrote a number of religious and political pamphlets, and was director or ‘ Time and Tide ’ from 1926.]
