PAINTED LIPS
girls Rebuked in church
Two girls were publicly rebuked by the Rev. Roderick Mackenzie in Si. dude’s Free Presbyterian Church, Glasgow, Inst month. St. dude’s is tho largest branch of the church which has suspended the Rrovost of Dornoch for permitting dancing in his house at Christmas. Mr Mackenzie was attacking “ worldly amusements ” when he suddenly stopped. Then, with arm outstretched, pointing accusingly to the gallery, he said:— “ Why are these two women in the back scut of the gallery attending this church to-night? They are certainly not paying the slightest attention to God’s word. To judge from their painted lips, they ehjoy themselves through the week and attend church on Slinday to escape the wrath of God in Hell. The church would bo better witbopt such people.” The two women quietly left the church as the final prayer was' being offered.
