THE ANNUAL CONFERENCE (Per United Pkess Association.) WELLINGTON, September 29, The annual conference of the New; Zealand Journalists’ Association took place in Wellington on Saturday, the four metropolitan centres being fully represented. A motion by Christchurch to make alterations in the constitution of the council of the association was successful ' The editor of the ‘ New Zealand Journalist,’ Mr K. C. Franklin, reporting on the first six months of the publication, stated that it had made gratifying progress, and the indications were that it was already standing on its own feet financially. . ■ The Chairman advised that the judging of the annual competition for the good journalism prises would shortly be completed, and the results would be announced by the council from Auckland.Next year’s conference* will again be held in Wellington. The election of officers resulted as follows: —President, Mr A, G. Grace; vice-president, Mr E. C. Franklin; honorary secretary, Mr G. L. Stanbrook; honorary treasurer; Mr T. Clarkson; honorary auditors, Messrs D. 8,Berry and S. R. Hutchinson; trustees, Messrs A. 6. Grace and G. F. Inglis.
