PAYMASTER R. BUTCHER Pres* Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, September 26. The death has occurred of Paymastercaptain Reginald Butcher. He was secretary to the New Zealand Naval Board from 1933 to 1926. MR GEORGE A. GREEN [Pkr United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, September 27. The death of Mr G. A. Green, who was well known throughout New Zealand as an expert horticulturist, occurred to-day at his home at One Tree Will. Mr Green was in his sixty-eighth year. He was a fellow of the Royal Horticultural Society. At an early age he became interested in citrus culture and nursery work. With his father, some 32 years ago, he helped to form the New Zealand Association of Nurserymen, now known as the New Zealand Horticultural Trades Association. He was also largely responsible for the organisation of the New Zealand Institute of Horticulture. He acted as Dominion organiser from its inception and was also Dominion secretary for a period. He was a regular contributor of articles on horticultural subjects to newspapers and periodicals throughout the world. He acted as citriculturist to the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, and in that capacity prepared a report on the citrus industry of New Zealand and also visited Australia and reported on the industry there. Mr Green leaves a, wife and one .daughter and two hops.
