FORESTERS
The quarterly meeting of Court Excelsior was held on Tuesday last. The C.R., Bro. C. W. Patton, presided over a full attendance of officers and a large number of members. An official visit was received from the district, the officers being D.C.R. Bro. Olsen, D.S. Bro. .Macfie, D.T. Bro Hope. Invitations were received .from Court St. Andrewhs to attend its meeting on October 7, from Court King Edward’s Pride to attend its cribbage and euchre shield tournaments on October 10, and from Court Little John to attend its fortyseventh anniversary meeting on October 1. Bro. Kirkness, in reply to the O.R.’s welcome, congratulated the court jn having Dr A. A. Reid as court surgeon, and it was resolved _that_ a letter be sent to Dr Reid thanking himfor the attention he was giving the members. C.T. Bro. J. C. S. M‘Minn reminded members of the juvenile meeting on October 3. The election of officers ■ resulted: —C.R., Bro. W. M. M'Minn; S.C.R., Bro. E. Simmonds; secretary, P.C.R. Bro. E. J. The following were nominated for positions on the District Executive For district trustee, P.C.R. Bro. W. Mearns; district auditor, P.C.R. Bro. G. D. Hay; District Arbitration Committee, C.S. Bro. E. J. Patton, P.C.R. Bro. A. M. Roberts. The officers were installed by the district officers present, and the toast of the District Executive was responded to by D.C.R. Bro. Olsen and D. Bro. Macfie, who complimented the court noon its choice of officers. P.C.R. Bro. ‘6. D. Hay gave the toast of the “ Fallen Brothers ” in the Great War. D.S. Bro. J. K. Macfie, in presenting P.C.R. Bro. A. C. Stewart with his P.C.R.’s sash, trusted that ho would continue to take the same interest in the court as he had done in the past. D.T. Bro. Hope, in presenting Min. Sec. Bro. G. W. Garden with the winning prize for the_ ritual competition, congratulated him and the other competitors on their fine performance. P.C.R. Bro. A. M. Roberts was presented with the H. L. Thompson Cup for winning the third senes of competitions.
