A concert arranged by Miss Flossie Pickard and held under the aiisui. es of the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society nas given at the Pleasant Valley Sanatorium on Wednesday evening. The programme included part songs by members of the Lyric Choir, songs by Miss A. Gny, Mrs Brydon, and Messrs Wallis and Freeman. Musical monologues vere contributed by. Mr Artlnu Burns, recitations by Miss Nnnna Ne.voy, Master Bobby Wham, and cornet solos by Mr G. Christie. Miss Pickard and Mrs G. Christie acted as accompanists. The evening’s enter’,ainmeht was greatly enjoyed by the piitients, and one of their number expressed hearty thanks to Miss Pickard and the party. The agent of the Patients and Prisoners’ Aid Society also thanked the performers. Two railway porters recently won a bridge competition. They were familiar with the grand shun.
