COMMUNITY SING

This week's sing should he of great interest to those attending, as the Otago Bug by Union has given permission to the committee to display the Ranfurly Shield, which will be on view from the stage during the sing. Another item of interest is the appearance of Mr 1). Newall, Waimate, in.character numbers, and these items should be much appreciated. Mr R. Colvin, cornetist, will also saist, and Mr J. Pringle, baritone, will be heard _in * Changing of the Guard.’ The sing will be held in the Strand Theatre (by courtesy of Fuller-Hay ward). Mr H. P. Desmoulins will be leader, and is araranging another good popular programme, with Mr Alf. Pettitt at the piano. Flowers are always acceptable, and donations can he sent to Begg’s or Strand Theatre. Proceeds are for the mayor’s relief fund.
