ST. BERNADETTE'S CARNIVAL
The calm and comparatively warm conditions last night resulted in a large attendance at the carnival ■ which is being held in the grounds of St. Bernadette’s Church, Forbury road, this week. An attractive array of stalls, which are well stocked with a variety of articles, has been provided, and visitors are spending freely, while the popularity of the novelty games is apparent by the amount of support each,is receiving nightly. The grounds are brilliantly lighted by a series of coloured lights, and the whole carnival is most alluring to the members of tho public. The proceeds are in aid of the church funds.
Arrangements have been made for a special entertainment to bo provided tonight, when St. Philomena’s Orchestra and Choir will appear, while in addition a drill display will be given. The carnival will again be open to-morrow night and on Saturday afternoon and evening, novelty entertainments being arranged for each evening.
