WEATHER FORECAST
CLOUDY TO OVERCAST The following weather forecast wta issued at noon by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, covering the south- 1 ern district—Dunedin, Port Chalmers, Tapanui, Winton, Invercargill, Riverton. Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:-y Pressure is still high over and especially east of New Zealand, while a cj’done to the north has been decreasing in extent and intensity. Forecast: Winds, moderate and variable* but easterlies ruling. Weather cloudy, to overcast at times, with scattered shouers. Seas moderate. SEVENTH FINE DAY. The northerly winds, which persisted throughout Monday and Tuesday, subsided last night, and comparatively calm and sunny weather favoured Dunedin to-day. * There was still a suggestion of a northerly breeze, but tke atmosphere suffered nothing m consequence, as the temperature for the morning was 50deg and 54deg at noon. Moreover, the barometer was t again rising at 30.3 in, disclosing an. improvement on yesterday s noon reading of 30.2 in. Yesterday’s temperatures were a maximum of 58.2 deg and a minimum of 43deg. No frost has been recorded for two days, and it last rained a week ago.
