The photograph shows portion of the cleared bush at the corner of Duchess and Newington Avenues. These straggly trees have apparently had their normal growth hindered by the overpowering influence of impenetrable and useless parasites Many of these limbs are dead or dying, and will shortly have to be removed altogether. Young native trees, chiefly of North Island origin, have been planted on the spot.
