At the monthly meeting of the Port Chalmers W.C.T.U., at which Mrs G, Mirams (president) presided, Mr F* Hilliker (New Zealand Alliance repre. sentative) addressed a large gathering of members and friends, members of tho Army Homes League being also present. Mr Hilliker’s address was listened to with deepest interest, and proved most instructive. In his closing remarks he made an appeal to all present to give of their time and strength to the fighting of the great enemy alcohol. Added enjoyment to the meeting was the contribution of local items by Mesdames Prattley, Farquharson, and Mathieson and Miss Parry.
