OTAGO’S RECORD FOR TWO SEASONS In the light of Otago’s victory in the Ranfurly Shield match with Canterbury last Saturday it is interesting to note that the provincial fifteen has not been defeated at Dunedin during the last two seasons. In 1934 Otago won the following games at Carisbrookv. Canterbury, won 16 to 12; v. Hawke’s Bay, won 9 to 8; v. South Canterbury, won 22 to 9; v. Southland, won 17 to 14; v, Wellington, won 6 to 5; v. Maoris, won 17 to 13. The only game lost in 1934 was against Southland at Invercargill by 7 to 9. This year Otago won the following games at Carisbrook:—v. Buffer, won by 20 to 0; v. Wanganui, won 26 to 3; v. Wairarapa, won by 44 to 3; v. Southland, won 11 to 6. In the games away from home Otago defeated Southland by 20 to 3, Waikato by 15 to 7, Auckland by 17 to 11, and Canterbury by 15 to 6. Matches lost on the northern tour were:—v. South Canterbury, lost by 12 to 18: v. Wellington, lost by 5 to 6; and Taranaki, lost by 8 to 17.
