I). Laing was successful in ■winning the Otago State primary school championship for Ssyds free style, hoys under 12 years class. As in the previous year, the club enjoyed the use of the tepid baths for the period of one Hour each Saturday evening. This convenience was especially helpful for training purposes during the colder months. We wish to acknowledge our thanks to the City Council for this concession. During the winter months numerous dances were held which were of considerable- yalue to the club. For the first time a club picnic was held. A very enjoyable afternoon was spent at Whare Flat on February 2. The usual picnic sports were indulged in, and, at the conclusion, a tired but happy crowd their appreciation of the outing. Owing to unforeseen circumstances the Social Committee disbanded in April, the General Committee carrying out its duties. It is gratifying to note that every branch of sport to which the club extended itself proved a financial success. This was due to the enthusiasm of club members and well-wishers. The credit balance of £ls 9s 8d is a considerable improvement on last year. At the primary schools’ championships the value of the’ club in this district -was evident by the improved showing of pupils of both the Kaikorai and Wakari Schools. This success was due in a‘ large measure to the coaching received from experienced members of the club.
