A well-known lawyer was in love with a screen actress. Before deciding whether of not to take the final step he instructed a private inquiry agent to shadow her. A week later ho received the agent’s report. It read: “Be Miss Flighty. Of good stock and well educated. Very select circle of friends. Not a gold digger. In fact, there is only one thing against her, and that is that she is gojng round with a very lowdown lawyer with a shady reputation.” In the Police Court this morning Laura Stuart Bell pleaded guilty to a charge of being in a state of intoxication while in charge of a car, and was fined £lO. Her driving license was suspended for six months.
