Another difficulty is the method of starting. Probably Heston and Croydon aerodromes will both he used for checking and sealing the planes. A committeeman said to the special representative of tho ‘ Sun ’: “ People imagine that we can line up the planes and fire the pistol, but it is not so simple as that. All the machines will he heavily laden with petrol and will be unwieldy when taking off. A possible solution is their despatch at intervals of a minute, with crash equipment ready to remove any failing to start.”
