Wmton, Invercargill. Riverton,'Orepuki, Bluff, Halfmoon Bay:— The storm controlling the weather for the past few days is now moving away eastward. A moderate anti-cyclone covers the Tasman Sea, but pressure lias fallen considerably over Eastern Australia. Forecast: Light to moderate southerly winds, veering later to west and north-west. Weather cloudy, and with scattered light showers at' first, mainly on the coast, but improving. Temperatures cold, with some frosts and morning fogs. SAILED.—June 21. Parera. s.s. (5.30 p.m.), 555 tons, Barker, for Waikato via ports. Gale, s.s. (6.30 p.m.j, 567 tons, Davies, for Wanganui via ports. COASTWISE MOVEMENTS. Parera sailed late yesterday afternoon for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. Gale, after being in port since Sunday night, sailed last evening for Wanganui via Timaru, Lyttelton, and Wellington. Wingatui has been delayed, and is not expected until tomorrow morning from Auckland via ports. She will sail on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Breeze, from Wellington, is due on Sunday, and has been fixed to load on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington', Picton, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. iloluklale is due on Monday from Wellington to load and sail that day for .Wanganui via Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton. John is due on Monday from Wellington to load out the same day for Waikato via Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and New Plymouth. . Paua, coastal tanker, is due next Tuesday from Wellington via Lyttelton, Timaru, and Oamaru to discharge bulk motor spirit. She then proceeds to Bluff, after which she will return to Wellington. Waimarino leaves Auckland on Saturday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due here next Thursday. Port Waikato, from Auckland via ports, is expected next Thursday to load for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland, and AVhangarei. Storm is due from Bluff next Thursday to load and sail the same day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, andWanganui. NORTHERN NEWS. The Cambridge, after loading at Wellington, was to leave there to-day for Auckland to complete. The trawler South Sea arrived at Wellington yesterday from the Chatham Islands. _ She will sail to-morrow again for the islands, ;■ Heavy rain at Napier on Wednesday prevented loading operations being started on the Tuscan Star. After leaving Napier she will complete Ipading at Gisborne and Auckland, sailing on July 4 for London. The Canadian Scottish was to sail from Lyttelton to-day for New York, Boston, and Montreal. The Waikawa, from Melbourne and Sydney, left Newcastle last Saturday for Auckland, where she was due today. To-morrow she will sail for Lautoka, Suva, Nukualofa, Vavau, Apia, and Vancouver. The Norwegian motor tanker Filefjell has bulk petrol for discharge at Auckland, Lyttelton, and New Plymouth. She is a vessel of 7,616 tons, and was built at Newcastle-on-Tyne in 1930. The Port Hunter was expected back at Auckland to-day, and she is scheduled to sail for London via Panama next Tuesday. The Rangitiki. which is en route from London to Wellington and Auckland, will commence loading for her homeward voyage at Auckland. The vessel will complete her cargo at Tokomaru Bay, Napier, and Wellington, and she is scheduled to clear Wellington for London via Panama on August 3. The Port Brisbane will come to New Zealand to load after unloading in Australia. Her loading ports are Wellington, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland. The vessel is scheduled to reach Wellington on July 16 and to sail from Auckland for London via Cape Horn on July 28. The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company are the local agents.

INTER ISLAND SERVICE. The interisland express steamer Wall ine arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 this morning. Passengers and mails for the south connected with the express. MONTEREY AT SYDNEY. The Monterey is to leave Sydney on June 27 and Auckland on June 30 for Los Angeles and San Francisco via Island ports. lONIC’S SCHEDULE. The lonic, which is due at Wellington iroin London on Juno 27, will unload her cargo at Wellington and Auckland. Afterwards the vessel will load at Auckland, Opua, Gisborne, Port Chalmers, Lyttelton, and Wellington, sailing finally from Wellington for Southampton and London via Panama on July 25. PORT HARDY FOR BLUFF. The Port Hardy is scheduled to arrive at Bluff from Australia on July -30 to commence loading for England. Her other loading ports are Timaru, New Plymouth, Wanganui, and Wellington. She is to clear Wellington for Southampton and London on August 17. PORT FAIRY FROM HOME. The Port Fairy was to leave London this week with cargo for Suva, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Oamaru. After discharge the vessel will load at Oamaru, Lyttelton, Napier, and Wellington. She is to leave Wellington for London via Cape Horn and Dakar on August 25. I OPAWA’S ITINERARY. The Opawa, which is due from Liverpool on July IS, will discharge her cargo at Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin (July 30), and New Plymouth-. Afterwards she will load for London, Liverpool, and Glasgow at New Plymouth, Nelson, Wanganui, and Auckland. She is scheduled to clear Auckland for London via Cape Horn on August 22. ■ TAIROA FROM LIVERPOOL. Due from Liverpool on June 29 the Tairoa will unload at Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin (July 14). For her homeward voyage the vessel will load at Port Chalmers, Bluff, Timaru. Wellington, and Auckland. She' is scheduled to clear Auckland for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain via Montevideo and Teneriffe on August 2. WAIHEMO AWAY. The trans-Pacific freighter Waihemo left the Pacific Coast on Tuesday with cargo for Nukualofa and New Zealand and Australian ports. She is due at Auckland on July 17. CANONESA AT SOUTHAMPTON. The Canonesa, which left AA’clliiigton on May 6 for Southampton and London via Montevideo and Las Palmas, arrived at Southampton on Tuesday morning. HUNTINGDON CLEARS CURACAO. The Huntingdon, coming from Falmouth in ballast, left Curacao on Sunday. She is due at Opua on July 16 to commence Homeward loading. She will then call at Gisborne, Napier, Wellington, and Lyttelton, and is to clear Lyttelton for London and West Coast ports of Great Britain via Montevideo on August 7. CANADIAN HIGHLANDER AT QUEBEC. . The' Canadian Highlander, which left Timaru on April 30 for New York, Boston, and Montreal, is reported to have arrived at Quebec, WHARVES AND BEACONS REMOVED. The Auckland Harbour Board announces that the Upper and Lower Albany wharvc.f have been removed ; also the five beacons marking the Lucas channel. DIESEL ENGINE FOR PAKURA. Further particulars of the conversion of the steamer Pakura to a motordriven vessel have been made available. The owners of the Pakura, Messrs Richardson and Company, have let the contract to Andersons Ltd. Not only will it be the first conversion job done at Lyttelton, but also it will he the largest of its kind yet performed in New Zealand. The present engine and boilers are to be taken out and an 870 horse-power Atlas Diesel engine will he installed. The contract also includes the installation of a steam boiler for driving winches and other auxiliary machinery. The work will involve considerable structural alterations to the Pakura, which will be done before the arrival of the new engine. The cargo carrying capacity of the vessel will he increased, and cabins for the accommodation of a small number of passengers will be added. Considerable use will be made of the Harbour Board’s electric cranes in lifting out the old boilers and engines and in lifting into place of the new machinery. The contract time for the work starts from to-day, and the job will take four and a-half to five months. VESSELS IN WIRELESS CALL. The following vessels are expected to be within range of the undermentioned wireless stations to-night:— Auckland.—Antonio, Aorangi, Daleairn, Hororata, Karetu, Matai, Maui Pomare, Port Hardy, Port Hunter, Waikawa, Waipahi, Wanganella, Winamac. Wellington.—H.M.S. Dunedin, Filefjell, Huntingdon, ionic, H.M.S. Laburnum, Mataroa, .Niagara, Niicula, Otari, Port Napier, Jlangatira, Rangitiki, Raranga, Romuera, Tamahine, Tuscan Star, Wahinc, Westmoreland, Winifred Mollcr, Zealandic. Awarua.—Canadian Cruiser, Paua, AVaikouaiti, Wainui, Waitaki.

WAIKOUAITI SAILS TO-MORROW. To complete discharge of her Australian cargo the AVaibouaiti will sail about noon to-morrow for Timaru and Lyttelton. She will also load for Sydney, continuing later at Oamaru and Bluff. CANADIAN CRUISER ON MONDAY. Since the Canadian Cruiser, from Halifax via Brisbane and Melbourne, is not now to leave Bluff until to-mor-row, she will not arrive at Dunedin until Monday to discharge her Canadian cargo and load local goods. She is timed to sail about 3 o’clock on Monday afternoon for Lyttelton, where she will complete discharge and loading, sailing finally about June 27 for New York, Boston, and Montreal. SULPHUR BY FISCUS. The British steamer Eicsus (4,815 tons) is due at Ravensbourne from Italy about the middle of Julv to.discharge sulphur. The vessel sailed from Gibraltar on May 22. CANADIAN SCOTTISH FOR TIMARU. The Canadian Scottish was to leave Lyttelton this afternoon for Timaru, her schedule having been changed. She will now sail finally from the latter port to-morrow afternoon for New York, Boston, and Montreal. MOVEMENTS ELSEAVHERE.
