TO-MORROW'S FOOTBALL

RUGBY * The final matches in the first round will be played to-morrow. At Carisbrook Kaikorai will meet Pirates, and on the run of play so far Kaikorai should secure a win, but Pirates are capable of better things than they have shown in their last two games. The forwards have given a good account of themselves, but the backs have lacked cohesion. At Tahuna Southern will meet Dunedin, and on the main ground at Logan Park Zingari will play ’Varsity B At the Uniyersity Oval ’Varsity A will meet Union. At Mosgiel a closely-contested game should be witnessed between Alhambra and Taieri. Both teams have good forward packs. Official guides will be on sale at the various grounds, and will contain interesting comments on players and notci on old players met round the ground. SOGGER The second round of the senior Association championship starts this week, when the main event will he the return match between Northern and Technical Old Boys at the Caledonian Ground. In recent matches these teams have treated spectators to a high standard of play, despite the heavy and greasy condition of the grounds, and anticipations are that this game will be as fast and exciting as the previous ones. Keenness should bo imparted to the game by reason of the fact that both clubs are in the running for championship honours. A curtain-raiser between the fourth division teams, Maori Hill A and High School, will he played. The remaining matches of the series will be

lloslyn-Wakari v. Seacliff, at the Gardens ; Morniugton v. High School Old Boys, at Oval No. 1; and Mosgiel v. Maori Hill, at Mosgiel.
