COMMUNITY SINGING
To-morrow the weekly sing will bo held iy the Strand Theatre (by courtesy L uller-Hayward). Commencing from to-morrow, the sings will in future ‘tart at 12.15. not 12.30. At the sing last week hundreds had to be turned away, and it will be advisable to be early to secure a . seat. An invitation lias been extended to the young farmers who-are at present in Dunedin. The Phillip sisters, who were such a success last : week, have consented to appear again, as the result of requests received from (ikteuers-in. Mr H. P. Desmoulins will again be leader, and be hopes to be, able to receive the donation which has been promised to him on the singing of ‘ The Last Round Up.' which ho intends' to render. Mr Alf Pettitt will l- e at the piano. Quite a number of. donations were received last weak after the sing, and this is very gratifying to the committee. It is to lie hoped that listeners-in will show their appreciation by sending in their donations, no matter how small, to the secretary, care of Bcgg’s, or to the Strand Theatre. .All donations will be acknowledged over the air. The proceeds are for the mayor’s unemployment fund.
