INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE JAPANESE COMPETITION TO BE DISCUSSED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. HOME, June 19. Australia and the Argentine, for the first time since its inception, have observers at the tenth international wool conference, at which during the next three days thirty papers will be discussed. The topics include Japanese competition, the protection of credits abroad in the event of the creditors’ failure, the shutting of doors to markets and other restrictions, and plans for accord in international wool arbitration. The discussion on Japanese competition will be contributed to by the British, French, German, and Italian delegates.
THE AUSTRALIAN GUP MARKETING (30-OPERATION URGED. SYDNEY, June 20. (Received June 20, at 10 a.m.) The necessity for the closest co-op-eration among all interests concerned in marketing next season’s wool clip was emphasised by Sir Graham' Waddell, who was re-elected chairman of the Australian Woolgrowers’ Council for the tenth year in succession. Sir Graham Waddell said that the statistical position throughout the world was wonderfully sound, and there was good reason to believe that the coming clip would bo sold at prices satisfactory to growers.
