TE ANAU TO MILFORD SOUND ROAD
Through a Mountain Barrier. —This map shows in detail the projected extension of the present Eglintoh \ alley Road —Southland's now and already famous scenic highway—through the bushcla.d mountains to the shores of Milford Sound. - On the extreme left is the final stretch of the recently-completed road, skirting Lake Gunn, which is 49 miles from Lake Te Anau, and winding through magnificent scenery. The point ol the commencement of the new road is shown, this being approximately 20 miles (by the new road route) from the Sound. In upper lett centie is the proposed tunnel under the Homer Saddle. Right centre is Milford Sound, showing the Hostel, at winch the road will end. It is stated that 200 men will be employed for three years on the construction of this 20-rnile stretch, which, in conjunction with the present Lgunton Vajley Road, may well be destined to be known as u The Most Beautiful Drive m the World.
