TELLS SECRETS OF "WET" AMERICA LONDON, June 8. Mrs Mary I. Fisher, the only woman "liqueur specialist and wholesale wine sipjaer in Britain, has returned from a business visit to New York. “ Drunkenness _ has decreased now that Prohibition is dead,” sho said to a ‘ Sunday , Express ’ representative. “ People who have more chances to drink have less temptation.” The need for speakeasies no longer exists, and the majority are cither closing down or being converted into restaurants.
“ Bad spirits are still being sold, however, by illicit dealers. Good liqueurs and spirits are doped. The labels of reputable firms are copied. One firm of printers which specialises in the art of copying these labels is said to be doing a flourishing business.”
