(Received Juno 16, at 11 a.m.) ■ At tho inquest on Victor Kennerley Rumford a verdict of “ suicide while of unsound mind” was returned. [A previous message from Cape Town, dated the 11th inst., read:—Mr Victor Kennerly Rumford, the son of Dame Clara Butt, whose death was announced yesterday, was found dead on, tho floor of his room. The cause of death is now ascertained to be a gunshot wound in the heart. Ho appeared in ordinary health the previous evening. Medical, opinion is that Rumford’s wound was accidentally self-inflicted.
