ST. KILDA QUEEN CARNIVAL
The closing scenes in connection with the Beach Improvement Queen Carnival will be enacted to-night in the Coronation Hall, St. Ivilda, and the final announcement concerning the voting will b© made shortly after 10 p.m. It is anticipated that there will be a very large attendance at the hall, admission to which is free, and there is no doubt that the queen of the carnival, whoever it may be, will be enthusiastically acclaimed. Yesterday the Municipal Queen (Miss S, Quirk) moved up into second place, but the Tramways Queen (Miss Agnew) retained her position at the head of the poll, while the Sports Queen (Miss It. Barton) was third, and the Surf Queen (Miss C. Idour) fourth. The_ programme 'arranged for _ this evening _is a particularly attractive one and includes ballets and solo items by Miss Lily Stevens’s pupils. The date of the coronation ceremony has been faxed tor Tuesday, June 26, at His Majesty’s Theatre. ____
