CHARITY BALL
With only ten more days until the holding of the function, it is perhaps well to once more stress that the proceeds are devoted to the laudable object of relieving distress in this city, and it is for this purpose that the executive and its supporters have, during the past , month, made active preparations to ensure that the ball will he both, a social and financial success. The charity ball offers more than the usual attractions associated with such formal occasions ; the presentation of debutantes in itself being a feature that is both inspiring and picturesque. A number of intending debutantes have already expressed the desire to mark their entry into social life by being presented to His Lordship Bishop Brodie, who will preside this year. The amenities of the Town Hall offer every comfort to both dance patrons and spectators alike, and those who have not yet obtained their tickets are advised to make early application to the D.1.C., where they are now obtainable.
