The u rider-tens. have a word finding puzzle this week, whilst the over-tens are asked to play with fifteen matches. Neither will be found, very, difficult. Send your replies to. Big Brother Bill, care of ‘ Evening. Star ’ Newspaper, Stuart street, Dunedin. Mark the envelopes “ Competition,’* FINDING THE PLACE OF THE : MONSTER. (Under ten years: Prize, one shilling.) Find- the words suggested by the clues given, and the first and last letters will spell the name of a Scottish lake where a monster lives. (1) Something borrowed. (2) A musical instrument. (3) A game played like draughts. (4) A ’ word meaning to annoy. FIVE SQUARES FROM FOUR. (Over ten years; Prize,' one shilling . and sixpence.) Arrange fifteen matches so as to form four equal squares joined by a single match; This is done by making two series of double squares parallel to each other like the. uprights of a letter 11. and then joining these vertical squares together with the remaining match like the crosspiece of the same letter. The puzzle is to rearrange two only of,the■ matches so as to make five complete ■qtiares; each equal in size to the original ones.
