GOOD CONDITIONS PREVAILING

Members report that conditions at present are fairly good on the whole, although city DXers are troubled by bad power interference. Last Sunday evening was good for early Americans. SVBT, Charlotte (1,080 k.c.) was heard as early as 3:30 p.m., and KMOX St. Louis (1,000 k.c.) followed shortly after. KOA Denver (830 k.c.) is now using 50,000 watts, and between 4.30 and 5.30 the station was like a local. WCCO (810 k.c.) was good, also WFAA on 800 k.c. KTM (Los Angeles. 780 k.c.) is to be heard until 11.30 every night, when KBLW comes on. KTM in only 500 watts, but due to interference from .lOPK, it is usually heard best about 11 p.m. RELAY is the same power, but is much harder to hear. WSB on 740 k.c. was good until 5.30. XEPN, now on 500 k.c.. with 50 kilowatts of power, is the best station below KFI. KYW Philadelphia (1,020 k. although heterodyned by 2UE, was an easy logging, also WOAI on l. k.c. from about 3.45 p.m. KDYL Salt Lake City (1,290 k.c.), with 1,000 watts, is a good station, and closes at 7.30 p.m.Owing to the test cricket rcbroadcast, no VKs were allowed on Sunday morning, but on Sunday night there were 'dozens of them. Static was bad. however, and onlv a few calls were heard. 3BTT (1.305 k.c.), 2KM (1.400 k.c.). IR.I (1.500 k.c.), arc a few that can be heard.

Kastorn reception is patchy, but the main Japanese are fairly consistent. A few odd Chinese can be heard, but these require plenty of persistent searching. If any one requires any addresses or other information, bo is asked to drop a line to the winter of this column.
