FORESTRY

Tlie fortnightly meeting of Court Enterprise was held in the court room. Unity Chambers,- Stuart street, on Tuesday last. Acting s C.R. Bro. D. Mercer presiding. An invitation was received from Court Pride of Green Island. Four candidates were initiated by the C.R., Bro. Miller, P.C.R. Bro. D. Mercer taking the second part, and the S.C.R., Bro. J. Dey, welcoming the new brothers with the Foresters’ toast. Two propositions were received for next court night. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded P.C.R. Bro. D. Mercer for. his past services in the kitchen on social evenings. The following courts were invited to the social evening on July 10, it being P.C.R. Bro. R. B. and Mrs Patton’s evening:—Woodlands Pride, Pride of Green Island. Little John. King Edward’s Pride, Excelsior, Marion, and the juveniles. Pride of the Forest. The C.R. gave the toast to the visitors, responded to by P.C.R. Sister Robertson (Court Queen of Green Island), C.R. Bro. M'Keitch (Court St. Andrew), C.R. Bro. Dillon (Pride of Leith), and S.C.R. Bro. Payton (Court Pride of Dunedin) After the close of the meeting the visitors were welcomed by P.C.R. Bro. N. M’Donald, who was in charge, it being his Scots night The following contributed items:--Bagpipe selection, Pipe-major W. Budge; song. Mi' L. Dunbar; song, Miss Olive Kennedy; dance, Miss Wilmor Thomson and Agnes Stewart; song, Mr W. B. M‘Donald; humorous song, P.C.R. Bro. G. Currie; song, Mr R. Dunbar; duet. Misses Ruby Baxter and Olive Kennedy; song, Miss Lawrence M'Donald; song, Mr L. Stewart; duet, Messrs L. and R. Dunbar. The accompanist was Miss M. Bruutou. P.C.R. Bro. W. M. Hogg moved a vote of thanks to the performers, and to Bro. M'Donald for arranging the programme. P.C.R. Bro. S. B. Brettell reminded those present that on the next meeting night the District Secretary would give a lecture on friendly societies. Supper was then served by the court officers, followed by an hour’s dancing to music supplied by Bro. W. Hargreaves. The minute secretary acted as M.C.
