SUNDAY SERVICES
The Rev. R. S. Watson, o£ Ashburton, will conduct both services at First Church His subject in the morning will be ‘ Suffering for Christ,’ and in the evening. ‘Why Are We Here?’ Dr V. E. Galway will be the organist. . At Knox .Church in the morning the preacher will be Dr F. W : Norwood, ot City Temple, Loudon, whe will speak on ‘Remembrance and Resurrection.’ In the evening Rev. D. C. Herron will conduct the service, when the subject will be ‘ Then the Almond Tree Blossoms.’ , The morning subject in SI. Stephen s Church will be ‘The Future Life: The Resurrection of the Believer’s Body,’ and the subject in the evening will'be ‘Spurgeon’s Text,’ the Rev. Thomas Miller being the preacher at both services. The Rev. R. T. Dodds will conduct both services at the South Dunedin Presbyterian Church. . • ‘ A Splendid Failure ’ is the title ol the evening theme at Trinity Methodist Church, Stuart street. The preacher will be the Rev. C. H. Olds. The anthem will be ‘ The God of Abraham Praise,’ and Miss Angela Hendry will sing ‘Beside Still Waters (Hamblin). In the morning Mr Olds will speak on ‘ The Strength of the Heart.’ The Central Mission services will not be held in' the Octagon Hall. At 6.30 p.m. the service will he held in the Town Hall, when the speaker will be the Rev. Dr Norwood, of the City Temple Church, London. The soloist at this service will be Miss Alison Tyrie, and the singing will be led by a combined choir. The services at Dundas Street Church will he conducted by Rev, Percy Cooke. Morning subject, * Love of the World ’; evening, musical service, subject, ‘ The Gift of the Holy Spirit.’ Solos by Mrs Ledgerwood and Mr. R. C. Macfarlane. Song service at close. , ~ At the St. Kilda Methodist Church the Rev. Percy Paris will preach in the morning on * How England Got Her JBishops, and in the evening on ‘ The Intrusive Christ.’ The Rev. E. S. Tuckwell conducts both services in the Hanover Street Baptist Church, The evening subject will be ‘ Action, the Road to Knowledge.’ The anthem will be ‘ Open the Gates,’ Miss Hazel Walker being the soloist. ‘ The Holy City ’ will be sung by Mr Roland Dunbar. At the Congregational Church, Moray place, the Rev. Albert Mead will conduct the services. The subject of the evening address will bo The Christian Fundamental.’ The choir will render Gounod’s ‘Send Out Thy Light.’ Sister Lingwood-Smith will speak at the Spiritualist Church in the evening on ‘ Unanswered Prayer,’ and will give individual spiritual messages after the address. First Church of Christ Scientist will conduct services in Allbell Chambers, 154 ' Stuart street. The subject for the morning and evening services will be ‘ God. the Preserver of Man.’
At tlio Theosophical Society Miss E. Starkey will speak on ‘ Productive Thought Enrichoth the Life.’
