WINOOKA'S RETURN

Referring to the return of Wiuooka and Trevfdlion to Australia, the trainer, Poison, said - “ 1 am deeply affected by Wmooka’s failure to run at least one racb on a par with some of his best performances at home.” The horses'will leave San I'rancisco aboard the Alonterev early in Jn|y. Poison disclosed that the UnitedStates Government had refused to extend the time of (he permits hold by him and an assistant, hilt tiiat this had nothing to do with the decision to take Wiuooka back. It was decided, before the Government’s refusal became known. Poison said he believed that last winter at Audley Farm, in Virginia, was too much of a shock for the Australian speedster, He was not accustomed to. that lazy life, phd the reactions from it were had. In Wiuooka s first American campaign* he started seven times winning four races estu mated to he worth 20,300 dollars. Tins year he started twice, and was beaten both times.
