THE ‘SPORTS SPECIAL’
The big array of sporting events tq-morrow will make to-morrow night’s ‘ Sports Special ’ an uncommonly engrossing issue. Locally, there will be the Edmond Cup Harrier Steeplechase at Wingatui, the important Southern* ’Varsity A. Rugby match at Carisbrook, the five-a-side Soccer tourney, and other League, Rugby, basketball, and hockey games; while further afield Otago will meet the Auckland Soccer reps, for the English: trophy (a match to be specially reported for the ‘ Sports Special ’), and there will be race meetings at Hastings and Timaru. The issue, one of eight; pages, will carry some eighteen photogravure block illustrations, and will be sold on the streets from 7 p.m. onwards.
