PRISONERS SENTENCED
[Per Unites Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June' 15. The following prisoners were sentenced by Mr Justice Johnston , in the Supreme Court: — Victor Frederick Melville, forgery and reckless driving of a motor car causing injury, two years’ imprisonment, and declared an habitual criminal. Ronald Dempsey Crook, breaking, entering, and theft, (five charges), two years with hard labour. Charles Mitchell Newman, breaking, entering, and theft, (three charges), three years with hard labour. . Charles Frederick Harvey, breaking and entering, three years with hard labour. Clarence Carol, breaking, entering, and theft, one year’s hard labour. Adolphus James Carliue, indecent assault on a male, three years with hard labour, and declared an habitual criminal.
