MILKMAN STEALS MILK [Fes United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, June 14. Herbert Hope Aitken, a milkman, was fined £2 by Mr Mosley, S.M.. this morning on a charge to which h« pleaded guilty of on Slay 29 stealing » ' milk can, a pleasure, and two gallons of milk, the property of Charles Francis B’reeraan. The Chief Detective said there were unusual features. Complainant left his. milk cart for a few minutes. When ha came back a can of milk and a measure had disappeared. A few days later ha saw accused driving his own delivery truck, and on it he recognised his missing can. He taxed accused, who frankly admitted the theft. Ho said some of his cows ran dry, and he was short of milk. Accused was fined £2, in default fourteen clays.
