J. R. M'Kenzie’s Ball. Last night the Town Hall Concert Chamber was a scene of gay revelry, the occasion being the fifth annual ball of the staff oLJ. 11. M'Kcnzic Ltd. The stage was artistically decorated with palms intertwined with coloured lights, while greenery arranged at intervals around the hall .added to the charm of the setting. The ball went with a .swing throughout, everyone present, thoroughly enjoying every dance. During' the evening a large coloured spotlight was played on the merry throng, and this, with streamers and. confetti, added to the gaiety of the scene. Excellent music was provided by the Imperial Orchestra. Prizes were given for novelty dances, the winners of the, lucky spot being Miss Davie and Mr Miller, while the Monte Carlo waltz was. won by Miss Davie and Mr Esquilant. The efficient committee responsible for arrangements were. Mrs Jarvis (who * wore a charming frock of ring velvet' and cream lace). Miss Sharp (peach pink diagonal georgette), Miss M‘Mullen (green lace with coatee to match), -Miss Quinn (gold krinkley crepe), Mr Weldon, and Mr Dallas. Mr B. Eennie proved a .most capable M.C. ' Among those present were: —Mr and Mrs Hime' (ivory angel skin, diamante trimming), Mr and Mrs Rennie (black lace and satin), Mr and Mrs M'Queen (ivory lace), Mr and Mrs C. Gibb ’(rust
georgette and black fur), Mr and Mrs Merry" (black krinkley crepe, sequin trimming), Misses Henderson (wine crinkle satin and lace), Lauren (lemoncrinkly crepe), Chilcott .(flame'velvet)/ Vennal (black velvet and sequin trimming), Reidy (white satin beaute), Ellis (orange crepe satin), -Dixon (pink organdie), L. Currie (blue frilled organdie), Bell (shell pink lace), Walker (cherry diagonal georgette), Palmer (frilled organdie), Robinson (trilled pink, organdie and black, velvet),. Heather (shell pink Windswept satin), M‘Kenzie, (flame, crepe satin), Brewster (blue floral organdie), Ross (white krinkley crepe), Quinn (black lace), Allen (green crepe.satin, sequin cape), Nash (shell pink taffeta), Morrison (green marocaiu), Currie (green sand crepe), M. Lauren (white crepe), Tait (green crinkle crepe), Barron (coral windswept satin), M‘Keitcb (gold satin), Ward (white crepe satin), Robertson (green velvet), Naylor (black ripple crepe), Keenan (pink satin beaute), Eggers .(black lace); also Misses Davie, Oswald, Stewart, Bond, Kennedy, Clark, Black, Davis, I. Tait, Baker, Anderson, Fuller, Thompson, Woolsey, White, Messrs Kerr, Murray, Cantwell, Gorkins, Barron, Cameron, Williams, Wilson, Smith, Freeland, Jory, Souter, Cusack, . Markby, Reddington, Lauren, Shields, Hill, Clarke, Manson, Owens, White, Robertson, Morgan,- Lamb, Bute], Donaldson, M'Cormack, M'Dougall, Anderson, Miller, Winefield, Ward, Reid, Hayden, Holmes, and Chapman. All decorations were carried out by Mr Brickel, of the Embassy Salon.
