Waimarino, which was delayed at Bluff, arrived this morning to continue loading for Timaru, Lyttelton. Wellington, and Auckland. She was timed to sail at 4 o’clock this afternoon. Waipiata, from Aiickjand via ports, was due in about 4’this afternoon to discharge general cargo. She will dock to-morrow morning, and sail from Port Chalmers about 5 p.m. for Bluff, returning here on Saturday to load for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Breeze, from Bluff, is due to-morrow morning.' She will sail later for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. Port Waikato is due early to-morrow afternoou from Wellington. She will load out in the evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Tauranga, Auckland, and Whangarei. Totara is expected on Friday from Wellington load and sail that day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and New Plymouth. Holmdale is due next Monday from Wellington to load arid sail the same day for Oamaru, Timaru. Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Kaimai, from Westport with coal for discharge .at Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru. Oamaru, and Dunedin, is due next Tuesday. Poolta is due from Bluff next Tuesday, and is timed to sail the same day for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. Gale, from Wellington, is expected about June 20 to load for Wanganui via ports. Wmgatui leaves Auckland on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, and DunfidiH, tilicl is due at tins port on June 21. John loads here on June 25 for Dargavillc via ports. WAINDTS CARGO. Freight unloaded here yesterday by the Wainui, from Melbourne, included transhipments ex the Comorin. Bullaren, Taiwan, Templar, and Idomeneus. The cargo was discharged at the cross wharf, after which the Wainui sailed for Lyttelton and Wellington to ; complete discharge. " She will leave Wellington on Friday for Bluff and Melbourne. NEW STEAMER WAITAKI. The Union Steamship Company’s new cargo steamer Waitaki, which left the Clyde on April 14 on her maiden voyage, was due at Adelaide to-day. The vessel has been specially designed for the service between Melbourne and Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington, now maintained by the Wainui. She has a gross tonnage of 2,180 and is similar in design to the Wainui. but is larger and faster The port of registry will be Dunedin. She is due

to make her first visit here on June 20. . * ■ . WAIRUNA FROM VANCOUVER. The Wairuna is to leave Vancouver to-morrow for Papeete, Rarotonga, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Melbourne, and Sydney. The Waihemo was held up at San Francisco owing to the American shipping strike. ROTORUA LEAVES COLON. Advice received by the New Zealand Shipping Company states that the Rotorua, en route from Wellington to London, arrived at Panama on June 10 and sailed from Colon the same day. The vessel left Wellington on May 19. TAIROA LEAVES BALBOA, The Shaw, Savill Company has received cabled advice that the Tairoa, en route from Liverpool to Auckland, Napier, Wellington, Lytte|tou,’ and Dunedin, cleared Balboa on June 7. She is due at Auckland pn June 29. ; FORDSDALE AT COLON. The Fordsdale, which left Wellington pu. May 19 for'London via Panama, arrived at Colon oh June 7. RUAHINE FROM LONDON.. The Ruahine, from London for Auckland and Wellington, was expected at Auckland to-day. , TUSCAN STAR REPORTS. The Tuscan Star, en route from London in ballast for New Zealand ports, reports by radio that she expects to arrive' at Wellington, ' her first loading port, at noon to-morrow. SYDNEY MARU EN ROUTE. She Sydney Mam, which left Moji on June 1 "for Wellington and Auckland via Australia, sailed from Hongkong, and is due at Wellington on July 4. GOLDEN CLOUD REPLACED. The Golden Cloud, which was to have left Los Angeles early in June for New Zealand and Australia, has been replaced by the Golden Coast, which should leave Los Angeles about June 27 for Auckland, Wellington, and Australian ports. She is due at Auckland about July 23.. PERSONAL. Mi' G. Dickson, of the Union Company’s purser staff, has returned to Wellington after holidays in Dunedin, and is now awaiting instructions. MAUI POAIARE’S CARGO. After an .uneventful fine-weather trip the motor ship,Maui Pomare, which arrived at Lyttelton on Monday from Apia and Niue, brought 6,866 eases of bananas from Apia and 2,200 cases from Niue, and seven tons of cocoa beans and fifty sacksof fungus from Apia. The cocoa beans and 6,500 cases of bananas were discharged at Lyttelton. ' ~ The round trip passengers were Mr and Mrs W. Anderson, Air W. S. Anderson, jun., Misses M. .1., I. A., and E. E. In addition to round-trip passengers, the vessel brought one passenger (Mr G. Lawrence) from Apia. . The 'Maui Pomare again left tor tne islands yesterday, PORT NAPIER’S NON-STOP RUN. The Port Napier arrived at Bluff on Suudav after a non-stop run from England " The vessel reached London on April 4 after an excellent trip from Bluff, and ‘had a very; brief stay at the Home port, leaving London a week later for Newcastle-on-Tyne (where she took in sufficient coal for the voyage to New Zealand and hack), and sailing from that port on April 20 tor Bluff direct. The route out was via the Cape of Good Hope, which, incidentally, was the only land sighted on the voyage of fifty-one days. Fine weather was experienced on the way out, nothing in the nature of a blow being encountei'ed. The Port Napier commenced Homeward loading on Monday iiioi'iiiffg, he? Southland quantities being 37,250 freight carcasses of frozen meat, 3,800 crates of cheese, 1,200 boxes of butter, 130 bales ot wool, and 225 casks of tallow. Experiencing heavy weather north of Lyttelton, the Holraglcn, which was to have arrived here from Wellington tins morning, put into Lyttelton for shelter at 10.15 last night. Bound for Dunedin. she sailed at S a.m. to-day, and should reach here early to-morrow morning, when she will commence loading and sail about 6 p.m. for Timaru,

Lyttelton, Wellington, Nelson, Wanganui, New Plymouth, and Waikato. ORARI DUE JUNE 25. When the Orari, some days behind schedule, arrived at Auckland from Liverpool early on Sunday morning she unloaded explosives before entering the port to discharge cargo from- west coast ports of England. The 1 remainder of the cargo is for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. The vessel is due at this port on June 25. For her Homeward voyage she will load at Bluff, Lyttelton, Napier, Gisborne, and Auckland, sailing finally from the lastnamed port about the. middle of nest month for London, Avonmouth, Liverpool, and Glasgow via Cape Horn. The distinct advance in tlm number of passenger bookings from New Zealand to Great Britain, particularly in the Shaw, Savill and Albion Line ami the New Zealand Shipping Company, seems to he an indication that these enterprising companies knew what the New Zealander wanted, when they introduced the tourist third class bn the long route. It is conspicuous, however, that the best and highest-priced cabins in the class are those which are booked up first, suggesting that the majority of passengers would normally be first class. ULIAIAROA’S ENGINE TROUBLE. The steamer Ulimaroa, which left Sydney recently for Japan, made on exceptionally slow run to Newcastle owing to engine and other troubles. The vessel attempted to reach Newcastle despite the engine trouble, but when the telemotor steering gear failed about five miles from port the master decided to requisition a tug, which towed her to Newcastle. The Ulimaroa, which liad tbeen laid up at Sydney for over 14 months, is bound to Japan, having been purchased by a Japanese company. She was formerly owned, by Huddart, Parker Ltd., and for many years was a passenger vessel engaged "on the Australian coast. VESSELS IN AVIRELESS CALL.
