PUBLICATIONS RECEIVED

The forty-page mini her issued on Monday to mark the seventieth anniversary of the ‘ Timarn Herald ’ was in all respects worthy of the occasion. The full history of the paper, with its successive proprietors, editors, and veterans of staff, its development of buildings and plant, is attractively recounted, and the history of the large district in which it circulates, with its chief institutions and industries, as well as of the town, is set forth in similar manner. The issue is properly illustrated, showing scenes from the earliest times, and no distinction with which South Canterbury is associated has been forgotten.
